Wine tasting

Sopron is one of the most ancient wine regions of Hungary, lies on the foothills of the Alps in the north-western corner of the country. For centuries, the city of Sopron itself enjoyed thriving trade and, surprisingly, until the 18th century Sopron was reputedly the largest wine trading center in central Europe. Sopron is a fine wine region, where the Kékfrankos grape is most famous. Although essentially a red wine region, Sopron does also produce some interesting whites.
